Desktop App
markdown version · view in Roam Research
- The desktop app is the full Roam in a standalone window, for Mac, Windows, and Linux. Install Roam covers the download.
- It's the same Roam as the browser version, plus a few things only an app can do.
What's different from the browser
roam:// deep links open a specific graph, page, or block straight in the app, which makes Roam linkable from other tools.
- The app is a thin shell around Roam, with a version number of its own. It keeps itself up to date automatically.
- The Roam inside it updates just like the web app does, so both stay current without you doing anything. Updating Roam has the details.
- Local API tokens, for connecting local AI tools to your graphs, only exist on desktop.
